What to expect from an astrology reading

Astrology is one of the best self-awareness tools I’ve encountered.

Contemplating your birth chart can unlock a sense of awareness that allows you to freely explore who you are and how you want to creatively express yourself in this life.

Astrology is a window into the depths of your personality, life challenges, strengths and potentials.

Regardless of whether you're a first-time visitor or a returning client, each exploration into your birth chart reveals something new and relevant. Consultations are designed to facilitate deeper understanding and self-awareness, fostering personal, spiritual growth.

It's essential to understand that
astrology doesn't confine you to
a predetermined fate
.

Instead, it offers valuable insights into your conscious and subconscious patterns, empowering you to channel your energy in alignment with your authentic self. This philosophy forms the foundation of my evolutionary approach to astrology.

In advance of our first reading…

I'll need some details around your birth (date, exact time, and place). I'll analyze your birth chart and may use Tarot for additional insights before or during the session. Come with specific questions and a curious mind, as collaborative sessions lead to the best results.

Some additional details:

  • I am a member of the International Society for Astrological Research (ISAR) and the National Council for Geocosmic Research (NCGR), and follow their Ethical Standards and Guidelines, which include confidentiality and your right to privacy as a client

  • Payment is due in advance and fees are non-refundable, however, they are transferable if rescheduled (note: no-shows forfeit their payment)

  • At this time all sessions are virtual

  • I use Google Meet for the session and follow up with a downloadable recording

 Frequently asked questions

  • Your birth chart is calculated based on the exact time and place of your birth (you’ll need to know this information before you book a session). I often describe it to new clients as if you were going to see a play: the “chart” is the stage on which the actors perform; the “houses,” or divisions, are the major themes of the play; the “planets” are the actors on the stage; and the “aspects” are the dialogue happening between them. It all paints a picture that I can read and interpret–in dialogue with you.

  • Individuals who want to understand themselves, their personality patterns or habits and their intentions for this lifetime. Astrology offers greater insight into how you might direct your energy in harmony with who you want to be.

Typically, clients contact me on their birthday to get an outlook for the next year, or for deeper insight into a particularly challenging situation, relationship or major life event.

  • There are several ways to obtain your birth time. Start with your birth certificate. If it’s a long-form birth certificate, it will contain your time of birth - along with other more detailed information. Depending on your state of birth (or country), you can request your birth certificate from an official authority within the city, county and state you were born. Google “obtain my birth certificate in [your state of birth]” for more information. Note: there may be fees to access the record.

Other sources of official birth data may include:

    National Vital Records Archives

    Genealogy websites

    State Departments of Public Health

Birth records are generally closed for 75 years, and can only be accessed if you are the individual named on the vital record (or the parent of a child) and meet certain criteria, including providing valid government-issued identification documents to prove your identity and relationship to the record holder.

Other methods for obtaining your birth time can be less accurate:

Ask your parents. This method is free, but they may not remember the exact time (or remember it incorrectly).

Contact the hospital where you were born. This method is typically free, but it can take time to find the right person and they may not have access to the records anymore (or the hospital may no longer exist or was incorporated into a larger health system).

Again, the official, long-form birth certificate is the best, most accurate record of your birth time.

  • I’ve been a student of astrology and other metaphysical arts since I was a teenager, and consulting with clients since 1999. In my twenties, I studied extensively with Barbara J. Junceau in Warrenville, Illinois. As Barbara stated in her book Life Journeys: Creating Consciousness, “Your life is not about what is going to happen. It is about how you respond to what does happen… It is about your habits of consciousness and how you can change them.” This philosophy forms the foundation of my evolutionary approach to astrology. And, it is my pleasure to be able to share it with you!
